Reba McEntire scored another award for her mantle Tuesday night (Oct. 17), taking home the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year for Sing It Now: Songs Of Faith And Hope at the 48th Annual GMA Dove Awards.
The Dove awards honor outstanding achievements and excellence in Christian Music, with awards given in the modern Rock, Rap/Hip Hop, Pop/Contemporary, Inspirational, Southern Gospel, Urban, Bluegrass, Country and Worship categories.
The Oklahoma native released Sing It Now: Songs Of Faith And Hope—a two-disc set that contains 10 gospel classics on disc 1 and 10 new original tunes on disc 2—in February. The double album features Reba’s single, “Back to God” and “Softly and Tenderly,” a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson and Trisha Yearwood.
Reba shares the award with her co-producers Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus and band leader Doug Sisemore. Each took to Instagram to share their thoughts on the great honor.
“Very proud and honored to have won Bluegrass/Country Album of The Year tonight, with @reba and Doug Sizemore… #grateful #jesusmusic #foodforthesoul,” Jay said in his post. “Reba is EVERYTHING you’d hope she’d be: kind, gracious, giving, humble and one of the sweetest souls on the planet… I love you Reba! Thanks for having me along on this ride!!”
Reba used the moment to congratulate her hard-working team. “We had a great time at the Dove Awards last night. Thanks for the super hospitality!!! Congrats my wonderful team! @jimweatherson @jaydemarcus @sisemoredoug @c_spalding,” Reba said.
Congratulations to all.
