Reba McEntire And Lauren Daigle Wanted To Record A ‘Sweet’ Version Of “Back To God,” So They Went To Vince Gill’s House

After their performance at the ACMs this year, Lauren Daigle and Reba McEntire decided that they should record a duet of “Back To God.” The song was originally released on Reba’s Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope earlier this year, but Reba wanted something “sweeter.” So, she went to the best place to find a sweet song of faith and hope: Vince Gill’s studio.

Reba was so struck by the performance of “Back To God” during the ACMs that she decided she needed to re-release it on her Christmas album. Her duet partner, Daigle, has bounced all over the music industry the past year as one of the most sought after voices in the Christian music industry, releasing a jazz Christmas album, and recorded a song for “Blade Runner: 2049.” “Back To God” is her first effort in country music.

“We all thought it would be a good idea to come back and redo it a little more sweetly and put it on the Christmas album,” Reba said.

“It’s been really special,” Daigle added. “I love the sentiment of this one. It’s something special.”

“BAck To God” is featured on Reba’s new Christmas album My Kind Of Christmas.
