Many of us love the Christmas holiday season and Scotty McCreery is no exception. The newly engaged singer is giving his fans an early holiday gift by recording a recitation of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Scotty’s soothing baritone voice takes you through verses such as, “‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house / Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse / The stockings were hung by the chimney with care / In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there / The children were nestled all snug in their beds /While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.”
The Christmas classic, about a father and mother who awaken to noises on the rooftop as their children slept, was originally published anonymously in 1823 as “A Visit From St. Nicholas,” but became more commonly known as “Twas The Night Before Christmas,” taken from the first line of the poem.
The reading is posted on Scotty’s Facebook and Twitter pages and can be heard below. While this reading is not contained in the album—but is available to fans for free—Scotty did release his own Christmas album titled, Christmas with Scotty McCreery in 2012. It contains 11classic Christmas songs including “Let It Snow,” “Jingle Bells” and “Winter Wonderland.”
