Shania Twain is back. For real this time– a new single, a new album and hopefully, some radio airplay.
Twain has officially released “Life’s About To Get Good” to country radio and it’s a positive, melodic look at a troubling time. Twain wrote the tune by herself and without much guessing, it’s about the period of her life after divorcing from Mutt Lange, her longtime producer, and songwriting partner. Twain also briefly lost her singing voice.
The beat is infectious, the hand claps continuous and Twain sounds like Twain. Not to mention, the lyrics are heartfelt though the music is poppy.
I wasn’t just broken, I was shattered
I trusted you so much, you were all that mattered
You no longer love me and you stand right beside her
I couldn’t move on and I think you were flattered
Life’s about joy
Life’s about pain
It’s all about forgiving and the will to walk away
I’m ready to be loved
And loved the way I should
Life’s about to get good
The longer my tears fell, the wider the river
It killed me that you’d give your life to be with her
I had to believe that things would get better
It was time to forget you, forever
