Will Taylor Swift Show Up to Collect Her Song of the Year Trophy at the CMA Awards?

Last year, the day before the 50th Annual CMA Awards, Little Big Town shared that Taylor Swift was the lone writer on their single, “Better Man.” After they took the stage to perform the tune live for the first time, Taylor also appeared on stage to award Garth Brooks the Entertainer of the Year trophy.

Typically, each song nominated for Song of the Year at the CMA Awards gets performed. This year, “Better Man” is nominated for both Single of the Year and Song of the Year, so that begs the question– will Taylor show up?

The last time Taylor was nominated for a CMA Award was in 2014 for Female Vocalist of the Year. The week prior she had dropped her first official pop album, 1989. This year’s awards fall 2 days before the release of reputation. Four collaborative performances have already been announced and Little Big Town has been confirmed as performing, but there’s still room for Taylor.

If Taylor takes home the trophy for Song of the Year it will be her first win in that category after one other nomination for “Mean” in 2011.
