Despite a pretty strong nine months of releases, no country artist has hit No.1 on Billboard’s Top 200 this year. In fact, no country artist has done that since this time last year. None until Thomas Rhett released Life Changes. Believe it or not, Thomas Rhett just might be country’s savior.

At the very least, he is county music’s brightest star.

Life Changes is the first No. 1 since Jason Aldean’s They Don’t Know and one of three country albums in Billboard’s top ten alongside Dustin Lynch’s Current Mood (No. 7) and Kip Moore’s Slowheart (No. 10). Since its release, Life Changes has sold 123,000 units including 94,000 traditional album sales.
