Thomas Rhett always finds ways to give back, and this time his favorite drink is involved. The “Marry Me” singer has teamed up with Crown Royal for the Purple Bag Project to distribute one million care packages by the year 2020.

The purpose of the project is to create care packages with the same iconic purple bags that Crown Royal comes in, filling them with essentials like personal care items, food and handwritten notes.

“My wife and I really like to live our life just as far as giving back and really getting on board with certain charities in parts of the world we believe in,” TR tells One Country. “That’s what’s so cool about this campaign—these bags that we’re packing full of candy and beef jerky, essential things and handwritten letters—the goal is to be able to pack one million bags by 2020 and send it to all of our brothers and sisters overseas serving in the military and also people who’ve been directly affected by natural disasters like the hurricanes.”

This bag packaging takes placeTuesday Nov. 13, the night before the CMA Awards, where TR is nominated for three awards, including Male Vocalist, Video of the Year and Album of the year. The father of two will be out packing purple bags with volunteers at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

When asked which award he would be most excited to win, the answer was easy. “If we won album of the year, the glass would be pretty full,” TR revealed. “Just because the album is such a body of work not just picking out one thing about it.”

The last time Thomas has taken home a CMA trophy was in 2016 for Single of the Year, “Die A Happy Man”. The 52nd Annual CMA Awards air on Wednesday Nov.14th at 7 pm CT on ABC.
