Thomas Rhett and Wife Lauren Ask Fans for Donations to Love One International

-

Thomas Rhett is celebrating his wife Lauren’s 29th birthday Thursday (Nov. 8), and the couple are asking fans to donate to Love One International in lieu of gifts. The non-profit helps to raise money and food for children in Uganda and has the ultimate goal for “transforming the hearts of children, families, and communities by caring for one child at a time.”

“In honor of Lauren’s 29th birthday, Love One International has set up a goal to raise $290,000 for these amazing kids in Uganda,” Thomas shares in a video posted to Instagram.

Lauren is seated beside her husband and explains the importance of helping the kids in Uganda. In fact, it was from traveling back and forth to Uganda when she first met her now daughter Willa Gray.

“When we were bringing Willa Gray home from Uganda, we got to know the children she was living with and growing up with at the time,” Lauren explains. “Since then, we’ve been back many times and I cannot help but see her face in all of the vulnerable children’s faces over there. That’s why our hearts are so passionate in helping these kids that need so much.”

She goes on to explain that the center in Uganda she frequently volunteers at can currently hold 10 kids. The non-profit recently bought a plot of land to build a bigger place to hold even more kids.

“Y’all have always been so supportive of him and I when we were getting married and when we got our dogs and now that we have two little girls. Y’all love us so well. You are the best fans in the world,” she adds. “Now we need y’all to help us to change a little piece of the world. One U.S. dollar can provide four meals for kids. Some people say, ‘Well, I can only give $5,’ but that’s 20 more meals for these kids. Your money is changing lives and you support who we are. This is who we are. Thank you, thank you so much for what you’ve already done and what you’re going to do.”
