If you’ve been under a rock lately, you may not know that Thomas Rhett isn’t just a big-time entertainer these days– he’s a songwriter too. In fact, he got his big break after scoring hits for Lee Brice and Jason Aldean. TR is coming off his second GRAMMY nomination for his album Life Changes and is rolling into the ACM Awards as the reigning Male Vocalist of the Year. But, the most impressive thing about him, maybe be that he wrote two huge hits in the same day– “Marry Me” and “Unforgettable.”
“Those are ones where like, Jesse (Frasure) wasn’t even done compin’ the vocal or even getting the demo done and we were all begging him to email it to us so that I could go play it in the vibe room before a concert, and playing it for anybody that walked on the bus like, ‘You want to hear a new song? Really just two kind of things I’d never really done before melodically and content-wise. And so just looking back, it’s pretty nuts that we wrote those in the same day.”
That’s insane. Both songs went No. 1.
