Country music singer Trace Adkins and the owners of Knoxville’s Back Porch On The Creek concert venue have announced their plan to donate $10,000 to the family of fallen Maryville Police Officer Kenny Moats, who was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call last Thursday.

After hearing about Moats’ untimely death, both Adkins and the Back Porch owners reportedly felt they needed to do something, so they decided to donate $5,000 each to the family of Officer Moats, who left behind a wife and three children.

Adkins is scheduled to perform at the Knoxville venue on September 2 and, according to concert organizers, $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the local Fraternal Order of Police in honor of Moats. They are also allowing law enforcement members to present their badges for free admission to the show.
