Vince Gill and Amy Grant appeared on the “Today” show Thursday morning (Dec. 14) as part of Jenna Bush Hager’s Jenna’s Country Christmas segment.
The TV host headed to Nashville to highlight one of country’s favorite husband-and-wife teams and talk about the Christmas season. Coincidentally, Vince and Amy met during a televised Christmas concert, so this time of year holds a special place in their hearts. The two have since blended their families, adding daughter Corrina to the mix, and have successfully made it work for 17 years.
“I’m so thankful for my family. To see them living lives that are kind and generous toward other people and helpful and all of that, I’m so grateful,” Amy said.
The couple also spreads the Christmas spirit with their annual holiday show, “Amy Grant & Vince Gill Christmas at the Ryman,” which has become a staple during the holidays. The duo takes the stage together and treat the audience to Christmas classics like “The Christmas Song,” “I’ll be Home For Christmas” and “Tennessee Christmas.”
“This is where she really shines,” Vince said about his wife during the holiday season. “This time of year, these songs, this spirit. The real spirit behind Christmas, she has that over anybody I ever met. Me not so much. I just like to get to stand beside her, play a little guitar and cheer her on.”
Vince and Amy’s Christmas show at the Ryman from Nov. 29 to Dec. 21.
