[Watch] Granger Smith Plays the Getaway Driver In New “You’re In It” Video

Granger Smith plays the role of a conflicted man in his latest music video for new single, “You’re In It.” In the nearly four-minute clip, the Texas native is in the driver’s seat waiting on two bank robbers played by Texas artists and friends, Parker McCollum and Koe Wetzel.

While he’s providing assistance to the robbers, he can’t help but think about the woman he’s left at home. Directed by Mason Dixon and shot in Smithville, Texas, the video also co-stars Granger’s wife, Amber Smith. In fact, Granger admits his wife was the last to know that she’d be starring in the clip.

“I just sent her a text,” Granger tells People, “I said, ‘Hey, I’ll shoot you the dates, but I think you’re going to be in the next video.'”

The couple first met on one of Granger’s music videos as Amber is an actress. She’s since starred in many of the singer’s videos—so many, in fact, he can’t recall the exact number.

“I’ve told her it’s getting to the point where we’ve done so many together that it would be really weird if all of a sudden I came up with a video where there was an actual love interest and it wasn’t her,” he adds.

Amber plays Granger’s leading lady in “You’re In It” and the woman he chooses over a life of crime. In the video’s twist ending he is found escaping his job as a getaway driver only to hitch a ride home where his wife is waiting for his return from her rocking chair on the porch.

“You’re In It” is Granger’s latest single from his 2017 album, When The Good Guys Win. The singer’s alter-ego, Earl Dibbles Jr., will release his first-ever book, If You’re City, If You’re Country, on Aug. 21.
