Michael Ray and Carly Pearce are becoming country music’s new super couple. Shortly after announcing that they were dating, the duo have been popping up at each other’s concerts and taking the stage for some duets together.
Their latest collaboration happened on the Opry stage, when Michael and Carly took on Keith Whitley’s 1988 hit “When You say Nothing at All,” which was later released by Alison Krauss in 1995.
The young couple began to sing the song, sharing verses as they stood on the Opry circle. As they sang to each other, the legendary Ricky Skaggs stepped out on stage to join the couple, surprising both them and the audience.
Carly shared the special moment on Instagram, saying that they had no clue he was even watching, let alone going out to join them.
“Last month, @michaelraymusic & I sang one of our favorite songs together on the #opry stage. As you can see on our faces, we had no clue that one of our heroes was standing in the wings watching & surprised us all by coming out and singing with us. Truly a moment I’ll never forget. We love you @rickyskaggs!,” she wrote in her post.
In the video, you can see Carly’s reaction to Ricky’s presence, while Michael was still unaware. It was when the audience started cheering that Michael looked over and saw Ricky, introducing him to the crowd.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Ricky Skaggs. Wow!,” Michael exclaimed.
