Brad Paisley had a surprise guest crash his set during a recent show in California over the weekend. While in Los Angeles as part of benefit concert Cancer for College on Saturday, which grants scholarships to cancer survivors around the country, Brad’s “brother” Will Ferrell stormed his set much to the crowd’s delight.
“Last night, my older brother Gary Paisley made a rare appearance…he’s a little off,” Brad captions one clip.
Shirtless and holding a can of beer in his hand, Will donned a blonde wig and what appeared to be blue pinstriped pajama pants as he addressed the crowd.
“I’m his older brother, Gary Paisley,” Will asserts. “Thanks, Brad for not leaving me a ticket tonight. But I got in anyway. Anyway, that’s my younger brother. Despite our estrangement, I’m still really proud of him. He never lets me sing a song but whatever.”
Later, Brad let his brother know that he’s supposed to be the one singing. He captions that clip “#blacksheepofthefamily.” Somehow, Gary manages to make his way to the microphone anyway.
In addition to Will’s comedic appearance, Brad was joined on stage by an impressive roster of band members. His super group included the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith on drums, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan on bass, and Will, aka “Gary” on vocals.
“Superband: introducing “The Red Hot Chilli-Paisleys-Pearl-Jams’n Roses,” Brad captions the clip where he shows off his guitar shredding skills while playing Van Halen’s “Hot For Teacher.”
Brad wrapped his Weekend Warrior World Tour earlier this year. The singer recently revealed that he and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley will be opening a free grocery store in Nashville to help families in need. The establishment, in partnership with Belmont University, is expected to open in 2019.
