On Friday, June 10, former “Voice” contestant Christina Grimmie tragically died after being shot at a meet and greet following a performance in Orlando.
After the news broke, Christina’s former “Voice” coach and friend Adam Levine released a statement saying, “Christina was a natural. A gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon. This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence. I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world.”
He also posted an Instagram photo with the caption, “I’m sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this…this just isn’t fair.”
It was then revealed Monday that Adam had also reached out to Christina’s family offering to pay for the funeral arrangements in full.
“I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away,” Christina’s brother Marcus said on Facebook.
The whole family, who had been raising support for funeral costs via a GoFundMe page, was completely overwhelmed with gratitude for Adam’s selfless gesture.
