Brad Paisley has cemented his place as one of the great guitarists in country music. He plays shows across the world and thrills celebrities when he plays their weddings. But he’s itching to try something new, specifically comedy. He has a new special coming out on Netflix that just might be the next “Blue Collar Comedy Tour.”

That may seem like a stretch for the “Mud On The Tires” singer, but he has been working on his comedy for a long time.

“I love the idea that the space between songs is the challenge for the musician,” he said. “I learned a long time ago that if you entertain them between songs, it’s gravy. So I started working on my comedy chops.”

Paisley has been hosting the “Wild West Comedy Festival” in Nashville and is known for his clever brand of humorous songwriting in songs like “I’m Gonna Miss Her,” “Ticks,” and his recent “Selfie#Theinternetisforever.” When Netflix approached him to create a comedy special, it was a no-brainer. “Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo” boasts sets from comic Nate Bargatze, John Heffron, Jon Reep, Sarah Tiana and Mike E. Winfield and cameos from David Hasselhoff and Reba McEntire.

Paisley gave the “Late Night With Seth Meyers” audience a taste for the show by rewriting his hit “She’s Everything” to be a more realistic.

Paisley also played his recent breakout single “Last Time For Everything” with his signature Fender Stratacaster. The song is the odds-favorite anthem of every high school senior class in the South.

“Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo” debuts on Netflix August 15.
