Celine Dion has been killin’ the game for decades. She was one of my first forever favorites. Right up there with Garth Brooks. Which is why it’s surprising to me that the GRAMMY-winning icon just attended her first ever Met Gala.
Celine has always had a way about her, but these days she’s really got a way. She’s truly living the DGAF life and it’s fun to watch.
Clad in a bespoke Versace gown and Bulgari jewels, Celine had the time of her life at the exclusive shin dig held as a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.
During her first moments on the red carpet she crowned a reporter from “Entertainment Tonight” with an actual crown while singing Sia’s “Freeze You Out.”
Then, she told E!’s Brad Goreski that, “It is my first Met Gala… I really insisted there was a pocket in the dress. I didn’t know if they would let me in… I brought my driver’s license and my passport in case they didn’t let me in. I would’ve started singing in the middle of the street if they didn’t recognize me.”
So, for all her I’m The Greatest Singer in the World antics, Celine is still humble enough to believe that someone in the world might not recognize her and let her into the party.
The real moment of the night for Celine came when she stepped inside Vogue’s Instagram booth where she danced, crawled and took her shoe off to use as a telephone prop.
Celine Dion is living her best life now.
