Say what you will about home decor and the shows about it, but Chip Gaines from HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” is one entertaining dude. Can he write a book? Who knows, but he sure can reveal the cover of a book in anti-climatic, hilarious fashion.
Last week, Chip revealed that he needed help picking the cover of his book “Capital Gaines.” Then, he took back to Instagram to play a drum roll announcing he would reveal the cover on “Today.”
The drum roll was awful, but typical Chip– heartfelt, enthusiastic, hilariously bad.

Drum roll please..I’ve got big news people—we finally landed on a book cover!! Now if I could just get the book part done.. ha! Thank you to everyone who was kind enough to give me your feedback-it really helped me decide on this beautiful cover. Lots of folks worked really hard, and today..I'm feeling really thankful. Now for the official cover reveal…tune in to the @todayshow tomorrow at 8:15am in every time zone to find out which one I picked! #CapitalGaines
During his interview on “Today,” Chip revealed that the winning cover lost by a wide margin, “We put it out on Instagram the other day, and this photo lost, by like a huge margin. But it was one of those times where I said, ‘I’m writing the book.’ I really wanted it to be about me and the expression that I wanted to capture. That was just one of these ad-lib moments at the farm. … Of all the photos, all the staged photos and the big set photos, that one kept jumping off the page to me.”
