Colton Dixon, from the 2012 season of “American Idol” was recently nominated for a 2015 Gospel Music Association Dove Award. The singer and piano player from Murfreesboro, Tennessee is a household name in the christian music community and has been nominated for his fair share of Dove Awards in the past.

In 2013, Dixon took home a GMA Dove Award for Best Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for his album, A Messenger. Dixon’s newest album Anchor could give him his second win in this category for the year 2015.

“It’s amazing. I just had so much more time to craft this record than I did the first one,” Dixon said in an interview. “I do believe in this work through and through, it’s been amazing to see how these songs have impacted people’s lives.”

Currently, Colton is touring with tobyMac and Britt Nicole. For information on upcoming shows, visit tobymac.com.

The 46th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held Oct. 13th in Nashville.
