In last night’s battle rounds on “The Voice,” Ashland Craft and Megan Rose of #TeamMiley sang Waylon Jennings’ “Good Hearted Woman,” and it was amazing. In fact, it was so amazing that I literally told my husband that I want them to both get the axe solely so they could become a singing duo together outside the show.

Both Ashland and Megan have what Billy Ray and Miley called a Loretta Lynn vibe, giving their voices a classic, almost timeless sound. After the performance, Miley said the decision was “intense,” and that both girls gave her a sense of home and made her fall back in love with country music– but ultimately, she chose to keep Ashland. Of course, Blake couldn’t bear to see Megan go, so he used up his very last steal to get her on his team. Afterwards, Megan shared that she actually has a picture with Blake that she took years ago and on it, she wrote “My future voice coach #meanttobe,” so she’s also maybe a psychic.

So for now, both Megan and Ashland are still in the competition, and honestly I won’t be surprised if one of them ends up taking the win.
