What better way to get in the Halloween spirit than with some deliciously festive cocktails? Whether you’re hosting a blowout costume party or binging on Netflix horror movies in your pajamas, these drinks are sure to make you feel downright spooky. I must warn you: these are so good that you might just start making them year-round!
Prepare your tastebuds—here are 6 frighteningly good Halloween cocktails:
- 1 (750-milliliter) bottle merlot
- 4 cups cranberry juice
- ¼ cup triple sec
- 3 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 ½ cups sparkling water
In a large pitcher, add merlot, juice, triple sec, and cranberries. Let the mixture sit in refrigerator for several hours—better yet, make this drink the day before and let it chill overnight to help bring out the flavors. When ready to enjoy, add sparkling water to pitcher, give it a good stir, and add some ice. Serve in your favorite sangria glasses. Bonus points if you drink this while in costume!
- 4 ounces ginger ale
- 1 ½ ounces orange vodka
- ½ ounce lime juice
- ½ ounce sour apple mix
- Couple drops green food coloring
In a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice, combine all ingredients and shake for about 30 seconds. Strain mixture into a glass (any kind will do) and serve.
Pumpkin Pie Shooter
- 1 ounces pumpkin spice liqueur
- 1 ounces RumChata liqueur
- 1 ounces caramel vodka
- Corn syrup for garnish
- Sugar for garnish
Lightly dip 2 shot glasses in corn syrup then into sugar, and set aside. In a cocktail shaker, add both liqueurs and vodka, and shake for about 30 seconds. Strain mixture into sugarcoated glasses and enjoy!
Dark and Stormy Halloween
- 4 ounces ginger beer
- 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
- 2 ounces dark rum
- Your favorite gummy candy for garnish (optional)
In a glass filled with ice, add ginger beer and lime juice. Now, here comes the fun part! To “float” the rum, take a metal spoon and hold it upside down above the glass, then gently pour the rum over backside of spoon. Get creative and garnish with some gummy Halloween candy and you’re good to go!
Black Cat Cocktail
- 2 ounces cherry juice
- 2 ounces black vodka (yes, it’s a thing)
- 1 ounce Chambord
- Corn syrup for garnish
- Chocolate sprinkles for garnish
Dip the rim of a martini glass lightly into corn syrup and then into chocolate sprinkles. In a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice, add juice, vodka, and Chambord, and shake for about 30 seconds. Strain mixture into chocolate-coated glass and drink up!
- 2 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce pomegranate juice
- 1 ounce apple cider
In a cocktail shaker with ice, add all ingredients and shake for about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass (any kind will do) and enjoy!
