Now that I’m an adult, Halloween is no longer a trick-or-treat, walk around the neighborhood, dress up with friends type of affair. Now, when Halloween rolls around, I prefer to curl up on the couch with a bag of candy (of course candy is still involved), a glass of wine and a movie.
So, if you want to do chill Halloween like me this year, check out these super scary, October 31-reverent movies that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
11 Scary Movies You Need To Watch This Halloween:
You probably shouldn’t watch the second, third or fourth installments, but the original is a Halloween classic.
Obviously, you have to watch “Halloween” on Halloween.
3. “Sleepy Hollow”
Okay, this one isn’t super scary, but you’ll probably enjoy this semi-gruesome dark comedy.
Beware, this move may make you afraid of your own TV.
5. “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”
This classic still gives me chills.
6. “The Shining”
This Stephen King classic is just the right amount of terrifying.
7. “Neon Demon”
This nearly wordless film will make you think twice about the world’s obsession with beauty… And the end is super creepy and disturbing.
8. “The Birds”
For some reason, my parents let me watch this when I was in the fourth grade and I was afraid to walk by windows or go outside for like six months after.
9. “Night of the Living Dead”
So, this one isn’t super scary just because of the quality, but it’s a classic.
This one is truly gruesome and terrifying, but unlike a lot of other horror movies, it actually has a great plot.
Oh, and word of advice, if you’re going to watch the whole series, stop after number three — trust me.
11. “Friday the 13th”
This slasher film will scar you for life, probably.
