As Justin Timberlake prepares to take the stage during the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, it’s important to remember a few things– he’s done this before, he has a new album coming out and the stadium is located in Prince’s beloved hometown.

Why are those things important? Because it plays into who could show up as a special guest, what songs, if any, he might cover and you know– prop bets.

First off, we know that JT has said he made a mistake back in back in 2004 with Janet Jackson when he ripped a part of her shirt off, exposing her breast on live television. Second, we know that Chris Stapleton, Pharrell and Alicia Keys are featured on his new album. In the past, he’s worked with Jay-Z, *NSYNC, Nelly, Timbaland, Britney Spears, Anna Kendrick, Jimmy Fallon and a host of others. But, it’s safe to say that Anna Kendrick and *NSYNC won’t be making any surprise appearances. So, who will?

Rumors have been swirling that Justin would invite Janet Jackson to the stage as an apology, but he’s also said that he apologized several times, many years ago. So, that’s probably out.

Then, there’s the Britney Spears theory. But, this one doesn’t hold up either– she’s got a show in Las Vegas the night of the game.

What about Chris Stapleton? Call me crazy, but I don’t think Chris is the right guy for a Super Bowl Halftime Show. But, still– he would show up way before Britney.

Could Jimmy Fallon show up? Maybe. He is scheduled to do “The Tonight Show” from Minneapolis after the game, but it’s more likely that he would show up in a pre-taped type of thing.

Jay-Z has had a bit of a comeback in recent months, but he’s way too political for JT right now. Probably won’t happen.

Honestly, it’s more likely that a Prince hologram would show up before a number of these artists. U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings and the Super Bowl is unofficially called Purple Heaven in tribute to Prince. Plus, the Vikings play “Let’s Go Crazy” after touchdowns. Not to mention, JT is/was a huge Prince fan.

Prince played Super Bowl XLI in the pouring rain– the pouring “Purple Rain” and everybody loved it. So, why not bring in a hologram and get a little duet going, right?

Currently, the odds of Justin at least playing a Prince sing are (via TopBet):

Lets Go Crazy -200
1999 +350
Purple Rain +400
Raspberry Beret +900
I Would Die 4 U +1500
When Doves Cry +2000
Little Red Corvette +6000
Delirious +6000
U Got the Look +7500
I Wanna Be Your Lover +7500
Justin Timberlake Doesn’t Sing a Prince Song +350

That’s all you need to know. It’s going to be JT on that stage, with a little help from Prince.
