If you weren’t a massive pop music fan and around the same age as Justin Timberlake, you may not recall that he performed during the Super Bowl halftime show before the whole fiasco with Janet Jackson in 2004. JT was also a part of the greatest halftime show of all-time– 2001, which featured Aerosmith, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly. He was solo by the time he appeared with Jackson.

You do remember what happened next.

While singing and dancing with Jackson he reached over to her chest and tore off a piece of her clothing.

As Timberlake prepares to be the main act of this year’s Pepsi Halftime show, he sat down with Beats 1 to discuss that other halftime show.

When asked if organizers discussed the incident with JT he said, “kind of. It’s just one of those things were you go like, yeah, what do you want me to say? We’re not going to do that again.”

JT also shared, “I had my wires crossed and it’s just something that you have to look back on and go like, ‘OK, well, you know, you can’t change what’s happened, but you can move forward and learn from it.'”
