Happy Halloween, pop music aficionados and fans of drum solos. It’s that time of the year again where you remember the man, the myth, the legend Phil Collins and his masterpiece, “In The Air Tonight” from 1981.

Lorde, non-squad member, but supposed BFF of Old Taylor (Swift), took the BBC Radio Live Lounge to put her creepy, haunting spin on the tune that is not about murder, death, child abuse or any other story you’ve ever heard. (It’s about divorce.)

Though it’s an acoustic-ish, somber cover, that drum solo still gets raw at the 2:50 mark and Lorde’s dance moves get the spotlight for a brief spell.

If you’ve been looking for love in all the wrong places, you probably haven’t been looking for Lorde covering Phil Collins, because yes, she sings, “I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord,” with a real emphasis on Lorde. Nothing is lost on me.

Obviously.
