Despite Last Year’s Absolute Failure of a Performance, Mariah Carey is Headlining “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve”

-

The biggest diva of them all, Mariah Carey, is headed back to “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve” for a little bit of redemption after she totally failed to deliver during her 2016 performance.

If you don’t recall, Carey did not sing most of her performance and cited technical issues and blamed Dick Clark Productions for the fiasco. In turn, the production company called Carey’s claims “absurd.”

But, all is well in 2017 and a joint statement from Carey and Dick Clark Productions said, “We can all agree that last year didn’t go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration.”

While on stage, Carey yelled the now famous line, “”F— it, I’ve had enough.”

After the performance last year, Carey tweeted, “shit happens” and then disappeared for a while, until she spoke with Rolling Stone, where she tried once again to explain what happened, “It’s just something where if I can’t explain it to the entire world, then they’re not going to understand it, because it’s not what they do. Just like I wouldn’t understand somebody who had a desk job and how to do that. I couldn’t. I literally am incapable of being in the real world and surviving.”

She also went on to say, “This was out of my control, and had everything not been such a total chaotic mess, then I would have been able to make something happen. Even the dancers should have stopped dancing and helped me off the fucking stage. I’m sorry. It was a mess, and I blame everybody, and I blame myself for not leaving after rehearsal.”

“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” will air on ABC at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31.
