Just to refresh your memory, a few years ago, Swedish girl group Erato recorded a version of British pop star Robyn’s smash hit “Call Your Girlfriend.”

The cover, which turns the dance hit into a beautiful, harmony-heavy ballad, immediately took the internet by storm. Using empty butter tubs, the girls created a beat behind their a cappella voices.

Now, I don’t want to say this was the start of the cup-tapping singing revolution, but, in my mind, that’s exactly what it represents.

Then, a few months later, our favorite sisterly duo Lennon & Maisy covered the “Call Your Girlfriend” cover, and it was also amazing. This was actually the cover that really put them on the map.

Look how little they are — so cute.

Now, during a recent episode of “Maya and Marty,” comedian (and surprisingly good singer) Maya Rudolph and actress (and surprisingly good singer) Emma Stone tried their hand at the butter tub cover — and it was actually incredibly good.
