McDonald’s Is Now Testing a Vegan Burger And I Bet You Know Exactly What They’re Calling It

I don’t know if this is good news or not, but McDonald’s is testing a vegan version of their hamburger, and it’s called– you guessed it– the “McVegan.” Creative, I know.

The “McVegan” is apparently a soy-based veggie burger served with fresh tomato, lettuce, pickles, and a “special McFeast sauce.” This comes after a long period of demand for McDonald’s and other fast food chains to accommodate to people with specific diets or food restrictions. If I had to guess though, I’d take this as an attempt from McDonald’s to get more millennials in the door.

Now before you get hopes up of getting your hands on one anytime soon, they’re only testing them in Tampere, Finland from now until November 21, but word has it that it might make its way to the United States, too.

While I personally don’t partake in the vegan lifestyle and probably (read: definitely) won’t be lining up to try this, there are mixed reviews on Twitter for the new Mc-Invention. Vegans are, naturally, eager to try it and want McDonald’s to bring the McVegan to the golden arches nearest them ASAP, while others are…let’s just say, a little critical of the invention.

Regardless, we’ll be waiting to see if we can expect to see it in the U.S. soon!
