Each Shark Week has to be better than the last, right? Yes, according to the Discovery Channel, so this year they’re pitting Michael Phelps in a race against a great white shark.

Here’s the release:

They are one of the fastest and most efficient predators on the planet: Sharks. He is our greatest champion to ever get in the water: Michael Phelps. 39 world records. 23 Olympic golds. But he has one competition left to win. An event so monumental no one has ever attempted it before. The world’s most decorated athlete takes on the ocean’s most efficient predator: Phelps V Shark – the race is on!

Wait.What?

There’s nothing about how they are going to find a shark, protect Phelps or get one of those tiny swimsuits on a shark. No details. Will the shark know it is in a race? Will the shark know that it is racing against the greatest (human) swimmer of all-time? Will the shark even try?

Will the shark attempt to eat Michael Phelps?

So many questions, so few answers.

Phelps posted a photo of a shark on Instagram the other day, so there’s that.
