Crock-Pot didn’t know they were about to become the topic of conversations across the country when 2018 started, but just a few weeks in, thanks to “This Is Us,” the beloved company found itself in quite the predicament– it was responsible for potentially killing off everyone’s current favorite TV dad, Jack Pearson.

So, because it’s 2018, Milo Ventimiglia/Jack Pearson, filmed a special commercial where he asked fans of “This Is Us” to forgive and overcome, “But in 2018, gathering friends and family, well, it’s not as easy as what it used to be. The country is divided. Sometimes that can make it tough to find common ground, but this year … this year, I think we should all take a deep breath, find the ability to forgive, and remind ourselves there is no difference so great that we can’t overcome it.”

He even scoops some chili out of a Crock-Pot.
