The youngest of the Cyrus clan, Noah Cyrus, has just dropped her debut single “Make Me (Cry)” — and it’s really quite good.
Though we often see young artists launch their careers with bubble gum pop songs and happy-go-lucky lyrics (think: “Party in the USA”), Noah decided to go a different route with a track about toxic, undeniable love and inevitable heartbreak.
The young singer shared the exciting news on Instagram saying, “so happy to finally share this. my new song #MakeMeCry.”
At just 16 years old, Noah already has the vocals of a seasoned professional. With her impressively wide range and raspy voice (somewhat reminiscent of her big sister), Noah seems to have all the qualities of a successful singer — and I mean, with Miley as a sister and Billy Ray as a dad, are you really surprised?
And even though this is her first official single, Noah has been fine-tuning her craft for years now.
“My dad always had me sing alongside him while he played guitar. He taught me how to harmonize to an old song of his, ‘Missing You,'” Noah told Paper earlier this year. “Writing is the best way to get your mind clear. It’s also a great way to explain your past or what you hope for the future.”
Looks like we have yet another Cyrus to keep on our radar — and we don’t hate it.
