Postmaster General Megan Brennan and Elvis’ former wife Priscilla Presley dedicated the stamp at Graceland, Elvis‘ former mansion turned museum, during the annual Elvis Week celebration.
The stamps, which feature a 1955 black-and-white shot by photographer William Speer, cost 49 cents. With the stamp designated as “forever,” postal customers can use the stamp in the future, even if rates go up.
With the issuance of the new stamp, Elvis sets another milestone. He’s now the first artist to be issued two different collections of stamps. The first was in 1993.
