The Voice” is officially back and in full swing, and we can already tell this season is going to be a good one! During the second night of blind auditions, we got to hear performances from some amazing artists– my personal favorite being 35-year-old Pryor Baird.

The California native sang John Mayer’s “I Don’t Need No Doctor,” while playing guitar, and it was incredible from the very first note. Adam Levine was the first to turn his chair, followed by Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys, and soon after, Kelly Clarkson joined in– and Blake and Adam remained on their feet for the rest of Baird’s performance.

And rightfully so– his performance was unbelievable, and his looks didn’t hurt, either– in Kelly Clarkson’s words, he looks “like a man…a sexy, sexy man.” Alicia Keys went so far as to say she thinks she’s the only one that can sing in the vicinity that Pryor could, and Kelly was like:

Giphy

Blake Shelton fought pretty hard for Pryor, though, and said he sounded like he “smoked a pack of cigarettes and drank a bottle of whiskey right before he got on stage,” which is compliment when you’re going for a raspy, rock tone.

Ultimately, Pryor decided to go with #TeamBlake, which I think was a strong choice– but I have no doubt the other judges will be wanting to get their hands on him throughout the competition!
