Ryan Lochte just wants another chance with Americans and his appearance on season 23 of “Dancing With the Stars” is giving him that chance.

After a tumultuous summer full of lies and interviews, Lochte has found solace on the dance floor with professional partner Cheryl Burke. Recently, Lochte has come out saying his USA Swimming teammates, including Michael Phelps, were not there for him, but his “Dancing With the Stars” family has been there every step of the way, since he joined the cast.

In an interview with USA Today, Lochte said he reached out to Phelps, but never really heard back, “But he didn’t call me. I was like, ‘Hey, can you please call me? Let me know, I need help.’ That never really happened.”

Since stepping out of the pool and onto the dance floor, Burke has told Lochte to get it together and each and every week, it seems to be working. Burke told him, “You’re going to either come out of this strong or run away and hide in a dark corner.”

Lochte has also received glowing praise from Vanilla Ice while on the show.

Most recently, Lochte and Burke performed a Viennese Waltz. The routine earned the pair their first eight (score) of the season.
