If Sundance Head was going to sing a coach’s song on “The Voice,” no one really thought it’d be one of Miley Cyrus‘ biggest hits, but hey– you gotta stand out.

Sundance took Cyrus’ song and made it super soulful and super country. When special adviser Faith Hill asked him to try it out without the guitar and Sundance replied, “I look fat without my guitar,” she suggested he do it with just hit guitar and the advice totally paid off for the father of three.

Not only did Miley sing along the entire time, coach Blake Shelton chose him to move on to live shows.

To note: “The Climb” was written by Nashville songwriter Jessi Alexander who also wrote Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck,” and two of Blake Shelton’s biggest hits, “Mine Would Be You” and “Drink On It.”
