Say what you want about Taylor Swift, but she’s a performer and a person, who has not forgotten her roots or how she got to where she is today. During tour stops on her 1989 World Tour, Taylor has brought out country music stars like Little Big Town and Sam Hunt, always touting how much she loves country music.

During a recent show in LA, Taylor brought out Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks to sing, “Goodbye Earl,” saying beforehand, “I would not be a musician if hadn’t been for this artist. I would not have wanted to be a country music artist if not for this woman and her band.”

The powerful duo sang “Goodbye Earl” to deafening screams.

After the show, Taylor tweeted that she used to sing a Dixie Chicks song at every talent show growing up. And that’s a video we want to get our hands on.
