Yes, Taylor Swift left the country music scene, but she didn’t leave Nashville or her roots. During a recent performance at the GRAMMY Museum, Taylor played a haunting (almost country), stripped-down version of “Out of the Woods” from her 1989 album.
The performance was part of her new exhibit at the museum, The Taylor Swift experience.
Before playing the song, Taylor explained how she wrote it, “The number one feeling I felt in the whole relationship was anxiety. Because it felt very fragile. It felt very … tentative. It always felt like, OK, what’s the next road block? What’s the next thing that’s gonna … deter this? How long do we have before this turns into an awful mess and we break up? Is it a month? Is it three days?”
