When it comes to relationships we’re all the same, including country music superstars. They have inside jokes, cute nicknames, and endearing (or maddening) quirks. Sometimes they reveal TMI about their better halves. (We’re looking at you, Keith Urban.) Here are six of our favorite country music couples and their encounters with everything from tiaras to chipmunks!

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are hot, young, and fun. This couple is one of the music industry’s most well-liked pairs. When it comes to good-natured teasing, Miranda’s got plenty of material, specifically Blake’s pageant days. You read that right. Last year Blake told Gayle King that when he was a child, Blake Shelton’s mother entered him in a beauty pageant. The young Blake was only in it for the talent portion of the evening, but we think that if he’d wanted to, he could have been a contender in the evening wear and swimsuit competitions, too. One can only wonder if he has any sashes and tiaras hidden away?

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

She is an award-winning vocalist. He is a rough and tough professional hockey player, which makes the fact that he was terrorized by an impish chipmunk on the loose in their house even more amusing! Carrie took to Vine and posted the video of them locating the chipmunk and Mike’s subsequent injuries sustained from the critter.

Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams

These two are a modern day fairytale. He’s a singer, she’s an actress, and they’ve been happily married for over a decade. Over the years she’s learned a lot about her husband’s genre of music, but when they first met she knew so little about it she thought the Grand Ole Opry was a concert venue for opera singers! Honest mistake. For a rookie.

Dolly Parton and Carl Dean Thomas

The living legend and her privacy-loving husband have a unique love that’s stood the test of time. Dolly and Carl have only been seen together a handful of times over the five decades since they got hitched, which used to cause speculation that the couple had split. The fact that Dolly is known for being a flirt hasn’t helped quell the rumors. However, this couple’s relationship remains stronger than ever, which Dolly told Closer Weekly, is at least in part because they are both stubborn like “two old mountain goats.”

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

Tim McGraw knows that women rule the roost. He once told Men’s Journal “With women you just give options and they make the decisions. I grew up in a house with just my mom and two sisters. Now I live in a house with my wife, my daughters, a female maid – and my assistant is a woman. I’m just the figurehead king. And I love it.” We’re not sure if that’s 100% flattering, but we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman

This couple got married in 2006 and seems to know how to keep their relationship fresh and exciting. Keith revealed on “The Ellen Show” that while he and Nicole don’t text often, when they do they’re of a sexy nature. Almost 8 years together and they’re still in the honeymoon phase!

Celebrity couples may live in mansions, vacation on private islands, and propose with diamonds so big they practically blind you with their shine. But stripped of the glitz and glamour they’re just normal people in love. (And, Keith, when we say “stripped,” that’s a figure of speech.)
