Deana Carter, country music singer-songwriter, was a big part of CMA Music Festival in Nashville by partaking in two different performances. One performance was a good, old-fashioned Deana Carter concert and the other was an intimate sit-down with Deana and the stories behind her songs. During the up-close performance Deana was joined on stage by up-and-coming female artists in Nashville, who also shared the stories behind their music.
Before playing her hit, “Strawberry Wine,” Deana told the crowd that her mother was in attendance and expressed concern for all the songs she writes about alcohol telling her, “you were raised right.”
Since her debut success of the 5x Platinum, Did I Shave My Legs For This, Deana has started her own record label, released her own music on that label and has been writing with everyone in town from the likes of Kacey Musgraves to Chip Esten to John Rich. We were able to catch up with Deana for a few minutes where she answered some questions for us, like– did she shave her legs for this and what’s going on now.
We can’t wait to hear that bro-country song!
