With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to celebrate — and what better way than with a fancy jello shot?
This year, celebrate the labor of love with a decadently sweet and spicy Fireball Jello Shot Cupcake. A mixture of Fireball whisky, cream cheese icing and, you guessed it, jello, these sweet treats will be your new favorite celebratory dessert.

Fireball Jello Shot Cupcake Recipe:
For the Jello Shots:
- 1 1/3 cup ginger ale
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
- 2/3 cup Fireball whisky
- 2-3 drops food coloring red
For the Butter Cream Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter; room temperature
- 1 tbsp Fireball whisky
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 pinch salt
Directions:
For the Jello Shots”
- Spray a small muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
- Pour ginger ale into a medium saucepan, and sprinkle gelatin on top and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Put the saucepan over low heat, and whisk ginger ale and gelatin constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour in the Fireball whisky to the jello mix.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring.
- Pour jello mixture into muffin tin and place in the refrigerator until set.
- This should take about 2-3 hours.
For the Butter Cream Frosting:
- Using a mixer, beat the butter on medium-high speed until fluffy.
- Reduce speed to low and add the Fireball whisky, powdered sugar and salt.
- Increase speed to medium-high and beat until frosting is creamy and smooth.
- Set aside until ready to decorate.
Putting it all Together:
- When jello is set, remove it from the muffin tin and place on a serving dish.
- Scoop butter cream frosting into a icing, or ziplock, bad and decorate the shots as you see fit.
- Store the shots in refrigerator until ready to serve.
