Thanksgiving is literally right around the corner– and let’s be honest, is it really Thanksgiving if you don’t have green bean casserole? Of course, there are a lot of variations of the traditional side dish (i.e. bacon cheddar green bean casserole, YUM), but you can never go wrong with the basic, classic recipe everyone knows and loves.
If you’ve never tried your hand at making green bean casserole yourself, fear not! It’s actually one of the easier Thanksgiving side dishes to make, and is really hard to mess up. Win-win.
How To Make Traditional Green Bean Casserole:
- 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 8 cups cooked cut green beans
- 2 2/3 cups French’s French Fried Onions
Stir the soup, soy sauce, milk, black pepper, beans, and 1 1/3 cups onions in a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake the mixture for 25 minutes. Take it out of the oven and stir, then sprinkle the top with the remaining onions. Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown, then serve immediately!
