Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, which means it’s time to start thinking about your menu! Trisha Yearwood’s Rich and Meaty Turkey Gravy will be the perfect complement to your Thanksgiving meal– pour it over your turkey, mashed potatoes, bread…and well, if you’re like me on Thanksgiving, pretty much everything.
As Trisha herself says, “You can’t really say turkey without saying gravy!” Preach, sister!
Trisha Yearwood’s Rich and Meaty Turkey Gravy Recipe:
- 2 cups pan juices from turkey roasting pan
- 4 tbsp. fat skimmed from pan juices
- 4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup shredded white meat from turkey
- 2 large eggs, hardboiled, peeled, and chopped
Pour the pan juices from your turkey roasting pan into a measuring cup. Skim and reserve the fat (4 tbsp.) If the remaining turkey juice comes to less than 2 cups, you can top it off with chicken stock. Mix the flour and the skimmed fat in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Slowly whisk the pan juices into the mixture and cook until the gravy thickens. Stir in the shredded turkey meat and chopped eggs. Add salt to taste and enjoy!
