It’s time to start working with those fall flavors. I love lemon cake as much as the next girl, but there’s just a time during the year when you gotta bust out the nutmeg.
5 Autumnal Desserts You’ll “Fall” For:
1. Honey & Green Apple PB Tart
1 green apple, cored and sliced
½ cup peanut butter (crunchy will add a nice texture)
1 sheet puff pastry
Heat oven to desired temperature (whatever is on the package of puff pastry) and roll out your sheet of pastry. Spread your peanut butter all on the pastry and then layer your apples on top of it. This is where you can get creative and create a cool design. Cook the pastry until the puff pastry is golden brown and the apples are soft. Drizzle honey on top of your tart and serve warm.
2. Easy Pumpkin Brownies
1 can pumpkin puree
1 box mix Ghiradelli brownies
Pre-heat oven to what is specified on the box of brownie mix. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree and the dry brownie mix. When all is combined, pour into a large brownie pan and then bake for 35 minutes, or until brownies are done.
3. Cranberry Dream Cupcakes
1 box white cake
3 egg whites
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup white chocolate chips
cream cheese icing
Mix together your white cake, egg whites, vegetable oil (or coconut oil) and water until smooth. Fold in your cranberries and white chocolate chips until thoroughly mixed. Separate out into cupcake tins, and bake until a toothpick comes out of the middle with moist crumbs. Let cool, and then frost with cream cheese icing. Sprinkle white chocolate chips and dried cranberries on top.
4. Chai Tea Cookies
1 box sugar cookie mix (and everything that is required to cook them)
1 packet chai tea
This one is simple. Dump your bag of sugar cookie mix into a large mixing bowl and then cut open a packet of Chai Tea and dump it in as well. Mix together well and then continue to bake the cookies as indicated on the package. (We call this one the Taylor Swift.)
5. Apple Dump Cake
3 honey crisp apples, peeled and chopped
1 box spice cake mix
1 stick butter
½ cup brown sugar
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees, and in a baking dish, spread out your chopped apples. On top of your apples, literally “dump” the box of cake mix, and melt your butter in a small bowl. Pour the butter over the cake mix, and then sprinkle a little brown sugar on top of everything. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve with ice cream.
