Bacon’s popularity has exploded in recent years which just proves how many of us have a deep love for this crispy, salty, yummy strip of goodness! With our bacon obsession comes bacon everything, and that has led to quite an array of dessert recipes laced with this savory treat.

The following 5 desserts with bacon are truly decadent and are sure to please any bacon fan, and maybe even win over those of us who think we don’t like bacon all that much. But how you can not love cinnamon rolls, brownies, and cookies?

1. Maple Caramel Bacon Rolls

Ingredients:

1 lb. bacon

1 pkg Pillsbury crescent rolls

½ cup maple syrup

¾ cup brown sugar

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and grease the foil with cooking spray. Unroll the crescent rolls into one single plane of dough and pinch any perforations together to seal. Stretch the dough out a little with your hands so it’s even. Prick the dough with a fork all over. Set aside. Meanwhile, cook your bacon in a skillet. Cook until it’s just done, but still lighter in color and not quite crispy. It will continue to cook in the oven. Drain the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate.

Drizzle ¼ cup of the maple syrup over the crescent roll dough. Sprinkle with about ¼ cup of the brown sugar. Top with torn pieces of the cooked bacon. Drizzle the remaining maple syrup on top of the bacon pieces, and top with the remaining brown sugar. Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbling and caramelized. Remove from the oven and allow the pan to come to room temperature before cutting or breaking into pieces. Serve.

2. Bacon Caramel Brownies

Ingredients:

8 slices bacon

¼ cup brown sugar

11 ounces chocolate, coarsely chopped

1 cup (8 ounces) butter, softened and cut into 1-inch pieces

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

5 eggs, at room temperature

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups flour

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 cup caramel sauce

Directions:

Bacon:

Preheat oven to 375. Add bacon and brown sugar to a large zip-top bag and toss until bacon is coated.

Line a baking sheet with a wire rack and lay bacon on the rack. Put the baking sheet on the top rack of the oven and bake until crisp, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven. Let cool, and then chop into large chunks.

Brownies:

Preheat the oven to 350. Butter the sides and bottom of a 9×13-inch baking pan. Line the pan with parchment paper and grease. In a bowl, whisk the flour, salt, and cocoa powder together. Put the chocolate and butter in a large microwavable bowl and microwave in 30-second increments, stirring each 30 seconds, until the chocolate and butter are completely melted and smooth. Add the sugars. Whisk until completely combined. The mixture should be room temperature. Add 3 eggs to the chocolate mixture and whisk until combined. Add the remaining eggs and whisk until combined. Add the vanilla and stir in. Sprinkle the flour mixture over the chocolate mixture. Using a rubber spatula, fold the flour mixture into the chocolate until just a bit of the flour mixture is visible. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out into an even layer. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce around the brownie batter. Sprinkle half of the bacon bits evenly over the batter. Spread the remaining batter on top, and repeat with remaining caramel and bacon. Bake in the center of the oven for 30 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through the baking time, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out with a few moist crumbs sticking to it. Let the brownies cool completely, then lift them out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into squares and serve.

3. Snickers and Bacon Cookie Bars

Ingredients:

Snickers

Bacon

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Puff Pastry

Directions:

Cook the bacon and chop in small pieces. Set aside. Prepare the puff pastry according to the package instructions but only cooking for 8-10 minutes (or until lightly browned). Chop one bag of Snickers Bites in small pieces. Evenly spread the Snickers and bacon over the cooked puff pastry. Drizzle 3-4 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk over the Snickers and bacon. Cook for another 5 minutes.

4. Candied Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

Candied bacon:

8 slices center cut thick bacon

1/2 cup brown sugar

Cookies:

2 1/4 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1 whole egg

1 egg yolk

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place bacon in a single layer on a foil-lined sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of bacon strips. Bake for 18-25 minutes or until crispy, making sure to turn bacon over after 10 minutes. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack for cooling. Once the bacon has cooled, chop it finely.

Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees. Sift flour and baking soda. In a medium bowl, cream butter with the white and brown sugar. Add vanilla, egg, and egg yolk to the bowl and beat until light and creamy. Add flour mixture and mix well. Add diced candied bacon and chocolate chips and stir until just combined. Place golf ball sized balls of dough on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for 13-15 minutes or until edges are brown. Remove from oven and let cookies sit on the pan for a couple of minutes before placing on a wire rack.

5. Chocolate-Coated Bacon Bites

Ingredients:

1 (16 oz) package thick cut bacon

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tsp vegetable shortening

2 oz white chocolate candy melts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Align bacon in a single layer on baking sheets. Bake in preheated oven 15 – 20 minutes until crisp. Remove from oven and transfer bacon to a baking sheet lined with paper towels and cool. Cut bacon into 2-inch pieces, set aside. Remove paper towels from baking sheet and line baking sheet with wax paper. Place chocolate chips and vegetable shortening in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth. Dip bacon in melted chocolate and allow excess chocolate to run off then transfer to the wax paper lined baking sheet. Transfer chocolate coated bacon to the refrigerator and allow to chill until chocolate has set, about 15 minutes. Place 2 oz white chocolate candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth. Transfer mixture to a small resealable bag, and cut a small tip off of one corner. Drizzle melted white chocolate coating over chocolate covered bacon.
