5 Must-Know Holiday Entertaining Tips From The Pioneer Woman Herself

If anyone knows how to plan a proper southern soiree, it’s Ree Drummond. In an interview with US Weekly, Ree shared five off-the-cuff tips for successfully entertaining this holiday season, and in true Pioneer Woman form, they’re all really easy to follow.

Ree Drummond’s 5 Holiday Entertaining Tips:

1. Candles, candles, candles!

Ree says “Everywhere you can put a candle, I think they just add such a vibe.” I hear you, girl!

2. Plan ahead.

“Even if you just have a really simple menu, see what you can do the day before. It’ll make the party so much more fun– no one wants to go to a party where the hostess is frenzied and stressed.” Truth!

3. Plan to get dressed an hour before the guests arrive.

“Because then you’ll probably get dressed 20 minutes before.” Also true.

4. Do not sweat the small stuff.

“People aren’t coming to your house to scrutinize how it’s decorated, they’re not coming to scrutinize the food. If they’re friends, they’re coming to hang and have a good time.”

5. Set a timer if you put something in the oven.

Don’t leave it up to your brain to remember when to take something out of the oven.

BONUS TIP: Play old music!

“Don’t stress out trying to find the best current playlist– play Bing Crosby.” Sold!
