Are you one of those people who carries a huge bag of stuff around like a badge of honor?

Oh, you need 13 bobby pins? Got ’em.

Yes, of course, I have some tupperware you can use.

But, have you ever really thought about some of those items lurking around in your bag? Are you being safe? Are you being smart? According to Real Simple, there are three items that are just too risky to be carrying around.

While we’re at it, you probably shouldn’t be carrying these items around either:

Social Security Card

See ya, identity! This isn’t something a person uses on even a monthly basis, so it is best to keep it in a safe at home.

USB Drive

Especially if that drive has personal info on it. But, also– USB drives contain important files you probably worked really hard on. Keep it in a safe place.

A purse seems like a great place to keep things, but just think about how often you set it down or don’t have it on your person. Unfortunately, it’s a scary world out there, do whatever you can to protect yourself– if nothing else you’re at least going to avoid the headache of the Social Security office.
