We all know that building healthy relationships is one of the most challenging yet most rewarding parts of a happy life. Unfortunately, there is no instruction manual for putting together the ideal partnership, but there are a few simple things you can say to get you on the right track. Try saying a few of these daily and see what happens! Just make sure you mean it, otherwise you will just sound like a robot. And nobody wants that.

5 Things People In Healthy Relationships Say Every Day:

1. “I Love You.”

This may seem like a no-brainer, but you would be amazed at the number of people in relationships who don’t say these words often enough. You may think your actions are enough, but words can be just as powerful. And hearing these three little words makes your significant other feel like they count.

2. “I’m Sorry.”

For some reason, this is a tough one. We all screw up on occasion and letting your partner know you are sorry goes a long way. Just make sure you mean it, or it will come across as shallow and insincere. Not apologizing when we are wrong is just being stubborn and stubbornness has no place in a healthy relationship.

3. “I Was Thinking About You Today.”

Everyone likes to know someone is thinking about them. It’s nice to know you are on someone’s mind even though you aren’t in the same room. You will be amazed at how much “I read something that reminded me of you today,” can mean in a relationship.

4. “Goodnight.”

This is especially important if you have been arguing; you need to end the day on a positive note. But even if you haven’t been arguing saying this is important. My husband used to travel a lot and I loved it when he took the time to send me a quick, “goodnight” text. Something about it always made me sleep better!

5. “You’ve Got This.”

Letting your significant other know you are behind them is very powerful. Encouraging them to be the best they can be and that you are supporting them is one of the best ways in the world to show your love. This works wonders for your children too. Going to school can be difficult, but if mom or dad says “You’ve got this,” they feel like they can conquer the world!
