The Christmas season is finally upon us and the weather is turning cold. There are tons of holiday parties to attend and everyone knows that the best type of drinking is Christmas drinking. Long gone are the summer-beer mixes and the frozen margaritas, and it’s quite popular to have a warm cocktail option at your next soiree. Below are five warm and cozy Christmas cocktails, and although some of them are served cold, they are sure to warm you up from the inside out.

5 Warm and Cozy Winter Cocktail Recipes:

1. Spiced Gin Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz quality gin
  • dash of bitters
  • bar spoonful of cinnamon simple syrup
  • zest of an orange

Directions:

In a lowball glass, fill with ice. Pour in your gin, simple syrup and bitters, and stir with a bar spoon. Zest your orange, and run it along the rim of the glass and place in drink. Enjoy – and be careful. This one is not for the faint of heart.

2. Apres Ski

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz apple cider
  • 2 oz honey bourbon
  • 1 oz brandy

Directions:

In a saucepan over low-medium heat, pour all your ingredients. Warm until heated all the way through, then serve with whipped cream.

3. Blackberry Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz blackberry vodka
  • 4 oz good ginger beer
  • one half of a lime
  • blackberries for garnish

Directions:

In a Moscow mule mug, place ice all the way to the top. Pour in your blackberry vodka, and then stir well. Finish with your ginger beer, and juice of half a lime. Drop the lime in and garnish with any blackberries you have on hand.

4. Caramel Apple Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz Apple cider
  • 6 oz Salted caramel flavored vodka
  • 1 oz Heavy whipping cream

Directions:

In a sauce pan over low-medium heat, pour all of your ingredients.  Warm until heated all the way through, and then serve in mugs. This recipe is enough for two.

5. Adult Chai Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz chai tea concentrate
  • 2 oz whole milk
  • 3 oz spiced rum

Directions:

In a In a sauce pan over low-medium heat, pour all of your ingredients.  Warm until heated all the way through, and then serve in mugs. As with all of the warmed cocktails, you can also use the crockpot or the microwave.
