If you ask me, part of what makes the holidays so great is the seemingly endless list of seasonal cocktails. There really is something for everyone! And the great thing about Thanksgiving cocktails is that you get the best of both worlds. You get the flavors of early fall, like apple-anything, mixed with those of later fall, like cranberry and pumpkin. Combine these flavors and you have yourself an amazing lineup of cocktails to pair with your turkey this Thanksgiving.
1. Maple Bourbon Apple Cider
6 ounces bourbon
1 cup spiced apple cider
4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
5 teaspoons pure maple syrup
Apple slices for garnish
Fill two glasses with ice.
In a cocktail shaker, add ice, bourbon, lemon juice, maple syrup, and apple cider.
Shake repeatedly then strain the mixture into glasses.
Add an apple slice as a garnish, if you choose, and enjoy!
2. Kahlua Pumpkin Butterscotch Delight
1½ parts Kahlua Pumpkin Spice
1½ parts Butterscotch Schnapps
½ part heavy cream
Add all ingredients and ice to a cocktail shaker.
Shake repeatedly until well mixed.
Pour into a martini glass and prepare your taste buds for a glassful of deliciousness!
3. Cranberry Champagne Cocktail
1 ounce sweetened cranberry juice
1 wedge lime
Pour cranberry juice into a chilled champagne flute.
Add a squeeze of lime.
Top off with champagne and garnish with a few cranberries.
This cocktail not only tastes incredible, but it is super pretty too!
4. Spiced Pear Sangria
2 pears, sliced
½ apple, sliced
¾ cup pear nectar (you can find this in your local supermarket)
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ cup ginger liqueur
2 cups ice
3 cups champagne or sparkling wine
Stir all ingredients into a pitcher.
Garnish with sliced pears and cinnamon sticks, if you like.
I’m not kidding, it really is that easy!
5. Kahlua Pumpkin Spice Martini
For Glass Rim:
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Splash of Kahlua Pumpkin Spice
2 parts Kahlua Pumpkin Spice
1 part spiced rum
1 part half & half
1 tablespoon pumpkin puree
On a plate, combine the sugar and pumpkin pie spice for the rim.
On a separate plate, add a capful of the Kahlua.
Dip rim of a martini glass in the Kahlua then the sugar mixture. This gives you a nice sugar rim.
Pour the Kahlua, rum, cream, and pumpkin puree into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously and strain into martini glass. Yum!
6. Cranberry Whiskey Cocktail
1 ounce Crown Royal whiskey
1 ounce cranberry juice
1 ounce ginger ale
Combine all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass over ice.
You can garnish with fresh cranberries to add an extra splash of color.
It’s okay. No one will judge you if you have one of each!
