There’s no such thing as too many cowboy boots, right? But, at some point, when they start overflowing out of your closet, you might start looking for ways to repurpose them around the house.
Here are six ways to do just that:
Cowboy Boots as a Vase
Put a vase inside your cowboy boots and use it as décor for the living room, a party, or even at your wedding. My favorite leather boots, overflowing with sweat pea, were displayed at our wedding reception on the groom’s table along with the chocolate groom’s cake and a smorgasbord of other chocolaty sweets.
Cowboy Boots as Christmas Stockings
Can you imagine cuter Christmas stockings than boots? I can just picture all those boots hanging up on the mantle from biggest to smallest. Also, this is the upside to having big feet – more in your boot stocking!
Cowboy Boots as a Utensil Holder
If you’re looking for a creative way to store your cooking utensils, then consider using your cowboy boots. Place pint sized jars in your cowboy boots and store on your kitchen counter. It’s a fun and practical way to add a little country décor to your kitchen.
Baby Boots – Décor for the Nursery and First Birthday Party
Let’s be honest, those teeny tiny boots for your baby will probably only be worn once or twice. The good news is they look great in the nursery, even if you don’t have a Western theme. I use my baby boy’s boots as book ends on his shelf, and, trust me; they’ll be on display for his first birthday party next month too.
Cowboy Boots as Birdhouses
Cowboy boots are NOT for the birds. If you are going to turn your cowboy boots into birdhouses they better be as old as dirt or falling apart. If you go this route, you’ll be cutting a hole right through the middle of the leather, so make sure your ready to part with your boots forever. But if you do make these, you’ll be sure to have the cutest birdhouse for your feathered friends. Your back porch just might need one (or two) of these.
Cowboy Boots as Décor for the Mudroom, Entryway, or Living Room
A line of colorful cowboy boots under a bench in the entry way or in a mudroom can add a little fun to your home décor, or a single pair can be eye catching on a mantel, bookcase, or hutch. They also make for good conversation starters. My sister has a beautiful pair of boots that she saw on the side of an Arkansas highway. She pulled over and rescued these beautiful boots, concluding they must simply be a gift to her from God. She has them displayed in her casual country home. They’re six sizes too big and remind her she has big boots to fill.
Repurposing your old cowboy boots is a way to get creative with your decor AND show a little bit of your country side, too!
